The call for workshops for EASA Rhizome is now open. On this page you can find info about the application process for workshops. However, we suggest you read through the tutor pack, which has loads of information about the theme and location of the event and the practicalities of running a workshop in EASA.
Tutor pack
Tutor pack is a document created by the organizing team for those interested in hosting a workshop at EASA. In the guide we’ll cover the theme for EASA 2025, the types of workshops we hope to feature, and the practical details of applying to become a tutor. Additionally, it includes a curated list of resources for anyone intrigued by the concept of the rhizome.
The aim of the tutor pack document is to support tutors understanding the theme of the event and the context of the city of Savonlinna. In the document there are instructions and a time frame for applying to run a workshop in EASA Rhizome.
Application Process
The application for hosting a workshop in EASA Rhizome happens in two phases: first a call for the initial ideas for workshops and then a call for final workshop proposals.
Initial workshop proposals
The first phase is the initial workshop proposals, where you share your workshop idea that doesn’t have to be fully developed yet. The initial workshop proposal can be done by submitting your initial proposal by filling this form by 22.12.2024.
The form for initial proposals is quite short and simple. We want to hear the initial ideas, no graphics or detailed plans are needed in this phase of the process. If you will be participating in the ITM in Savonlinna, we will give feedback for you personally there. If you cannot join ITM, we will send you written feedback via email.
Final workshop proposals
After you have received feedback for the initial workshop proposals, we will ask for final workshop proposals. At this point we will ask for more information, like methodology, a short abstract, schedule for the workshop during the event and visuals.
The deadline for the final proposals is 9.2.2025. The form for submitting the final workshop proposals will be out after ITM. The decisions on which workshops are chosen for EASA Rhizome will be done at the start of March. The decisions will be made based on the final workshop proposals.
ITM
ITM is an event for those planning to run a workshop in EASA Rhizome. ITM allows potential tutors to engage with the theme and the local context before the summer event and thus develop their workshop ideas.
The event is organized 15.-19.1.2025 in Savonlinna, Finland. The event consists of diving deeper to the theme of Rhizome, getting to know Savonlinna and the surrounding areas and hanging out with other future tutors. The deadline for signing up for ITM is 22.12.2024.
